"It was so exciting to have a student studying here in Wisconsin who came from Singapore!
Not only did Sherina come from a different culture, but her passion for ethnomusicology
and her expertise in dance as well as playing the gamelan was a wonderful addition
to our piano studio.
Sherina was a great student -- she tackled really difficult repertoire, played with
a lot of conviction, and was an excellent performer. She also wrote beautifully and
really knew about the music she was playing.
I highly recommend her as a teacher!"
Professor Catherine Kautsky
From Sherina’s Teacher
Sherina graduated with a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University

Wesleyan University, she was awarded the Leavell Memorial Prize. Sherina’s academic
excellence also made her a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Sherina began her teaching career as a full-time piano teacher since 2001. Besides
her experience at coaching solo piano, Sherina was the music director and instructor
of Nanyang Technological University’s Piano Ensemble in 2010 and 2011. In addition,
Sherina enjoys working with other musicians, as well as exploring music of other
cultures. Sherina believes that it is her teaching approach that leads her students
to fulfill their potential in music, and naturally get the good results that they
deserve in music examinations!
